Meet Alayo Singer

Prince Ayoola Michael Akinola is the titan everyone knows as Alayo Singer, he is also popularly
referred to as ‘Number 1’. His genre is a melodious fusion of Gospel music, Juju music, and
Tungba music, which is widely referred to as the ‘GosJuTungba’ genre. Alayo Singer is the
pioneer of this genre.

The music of 'Alayo Singer' is undisputedly the 'Number 1' choice for lovers of music in Abeokuta, Ogun State. The brand has gradually grown beyond Abeokuta, into the whole of Nigeria, and at the rate which the brand is growing, the music of Alayo Singer will no longer be ‘Number 1’ in just Abeokuta alone, but ‘Number 1’ in Nigeria.

Alayo Singer hails from Abeokuta North L.G. of Ogun state, but He was born in Lagos state on February 1st 1975 to Late Pa Emmanuel Sunday Akinola, a Police Officer and Mrs Akinola aka Iya Adura. Alayo Singer is happily married to his beautiful childhood sweetheart, Yetunde, and the marriage is blessed with children.

Contrary to the belief that musicians are usually not educated, Alayo Singer is well educated, and also a lover of education. His education started at Alaguntan Primary School, Iyana-Ipaja Lagos state, and he later proceeded to Awori Anglican Comprehensive High school, Ipaja for his secondary school education. After that, he obtained an Ordinary National Diploma degree in Business Studies from Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta. He is currently studying for a Bachelors Degree in Criminology and Security Studies at the National Open University of Nigeria.

Like most talented musicians, Alayo Singer started singing in the choir from the age of 6, and on 1st November 1999, he officially started his musical career with the duly registered band name ''Alayo Melody Singers'' (Reg. no: OG5605). Despite the fame and busy schedule Alayo Singer is still a devoted chorister and devout Christian.

He released his first album, titled ‘Ileri Oluwa’ in 2006, and has released a total of 8 albums. His albums and live performances are being sold both in Nigeria and outside Nigeria. He has performed across several states and localities of Nigeria, he has also performed in South Africa, Ghana, Ireland, Kenya, London and Dubai. He has been receiving awards since 2002, and has received a countless number of awards and recognitions, both in Nigeria and Outside Nigeria.

He is a great motivator who has always encouraged people to keep striving for success, regardless of their background and current situation. He is an inspiration, mentor, and sponsor to several youths, he is also a proud Rotarian.
